By viewing this website, you will be introduced to the concepts of Whole Health and Holistic Stress Management and to energy medicine and other related information in the field of energy healing (collectively, Energy Medicine). The term Bioenergetics is used to refer to forms of Energy Medicine that are built around the concepts of resonance and coherence and focused on interactions of energy and information with the physical body at a foundational level.
The term energy is generally associated with two kinds of energy fields—veritable energy fields, which can be measured, and putative (or subtle) energy fields, which (for the most part) cannot be measured with current technology. The human body creates and is affected by both types of energy fields. The subtle fields are believed to connect into the physical body through various subtle energy systems, such as the acupuncture meridians and the chakras. While veritable energy fields have many well-established uses in the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease, work with subtle energy fields has shown some promising results, but substantiating scientific research is still in the early phases.
The prevailing premise of Energy Medicine is that unrestricted flow and balance of the body’s energies are vital for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and for fostering high-level well-being. The practice of Energy Medicine involves a variety of dynamic, holistic approaches and gentle, non-invasive techniques engaging the body’s electromagnetic and subtle energy fields. It uses biophysics (vs. biochemistry) to assess and correct energetic imbalances and field distortions that may be underlying causes of physical, mental, or behavioral health challenges.
Unless specifically licensed to do so, practitioners of Energy Medicine are not diagnosing or treating the physical body, which is the domain of the medical fields and other allied healthcare professions, but instead are working with the body’s energy and information flows and organizing patterns.
There is a distinction between healing using Energy Medicine and the practice of medicine or any other licensed healthcare practice whose mission it is to cure. The purpose of healing is to achieve a state of wholeness, whereas curing means to erase symptoms of illness or disease in the physical body.
Although Energy Medicine appears to have promising physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits, it has yet to be fully researched by the Western academic, medical, and psychological communities and therefore is considered experimental at this time.
Energy Medicine is, for the most part, self-regulated and is considered complementary or alternative to the traditional healthcare practices that are licensed in the United States.
While Verena Vomastic has extensive training and experience in the healing arts as an energy-medicine practitioner and stress-management educator, she is not a physician, psychologist, psychotherapist, or other licensed healthcare provider nor are her services licensed by the State of Colorado.
